Collaborative Outreach: Alpha in the Western Suburbs

Thank you for attending the Love Fox Valley Synergy Meeting. I’m pleased to provide you with some encouraging feedback and results of the 2008 Alpha Invitation in Chicago’s west suburbs:

• 34 Churches participated with 7 new churches offering Alpha for the first time
• 121% increase in guests attending over 2007 (from 293 to 647 guests)
• 30 guests attended directly through the advertising
• 45 people made a first time faith commitment!

We are thankful to God for His blessing, but believe this is just the beginning of what God can do as we partner together. Churches in Lake County also ran the Alpha Invitation with 29 churches participating and similar results, bringing the total in our region to 62 churches. The vision is to build this year on year, inviting more churches to participate, and raise our corporate witness in a positive way to touch our communities with the love of Christ through the Alpha Course. (Research from other countries shows the impact of the Alpha Invitation, when repeated in the same region, grows every year.)

In Fall 2009, one of the regions we are going to focus on is the Fox Valley and we’ve planned a lunch gathering on Wednesday, March 11 at Warehouse Church in Aurora from noon -1:15pm to share the vision for 2009 and start the planning process. It would be great if you or any interested leaders from your church could join us. We’d also like to encourage you to consider inviting a new Church to come with you so we can expand the number of churches involved and have an even greater impact.
