Elgin - House of Prayer: New Director of Worship

A Light, A Compass, and a Hand on the Road of Life.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We want to introduce Stephen Carter as the new Director of Worship of Light & Life Ministries, a ministry focused on serving the church by networking and mobilizing worship, prayer and evangelism. We are presently developing Elgin’s House of Prayer for the Nations, Compass Regional Training Center and Fine Arts Academy.

Stephen will be graduating from Judson College this April with a degree in Worship Arts. Last summer he completed a three month internship at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. Stephen’s primary focus will be at Elgin’s’ House of Prayer for the Nations.

We founded the House of Prayer in 1995 and are presently establishing this ministry of worship and intercession. The House of Prayer mandate is to reverence and honor God and give Him the praise and adoration that is due His name. We continue to network and develop a base where the Body of Christ in the Elgin area and beyond can be edified through the avenue of praise and prayer in partnership and cooperation with local and area pastors.

Our Vision is that out of the over flow of the church in the Elgin Area there will be praise & prayer 24/7. The Elgin’s House of Prayer is a Prayer Place for individual and corporate prayer meetings for children, youth, adults and seniors from the Body of Christ to seek His face, gaze at His beauty and intercede for revival and spiritual awakening (evangelism) in families, neighborhoods, cities and the nations of the world.

Stephen has committed himself to 50 hours per week of dedicated service. He will lead worship and prayer, develop training and help give leadership and oversight. Stephen will have opportunity to use his gifts of preaching and teaching as well as assisting with administration and infrastructure. Several hours a week will be given to intercession, evangelism and outreach to the poor. All staff is expected to participate in a local church of their choice. Stephen must raise his own financial support. This support model allows the body of Christ to invest in the kingdom of God personally by supporting him.

As Directors of Light & Life Ministries and Elgin’s House of Prayer for the Nations we invite you to consider partnering with Stephen. One practical way is to financially support Stephen. He is embracing a sacrificial and noble lifestyle for the cause of Christ. He will need your spiritual, emotional and financial support.
