Bravo! to Chicagoland Pastor who is a Champion for Unity

The King of Unity

Randy

We all know the ultimate King of unity is Jesus himself, but I have to say this guy runs a close second.

Randy Schoof is the founding pastor of Warehouse Church in Aurora. But, if you ask Randy, he would probably say he is just a pastor in the Church of Aurora. I have never met a person who lives, breathes, and bleeds unity and collaboration the way Randy does. I still have yet to figure out how he actually runs a church, because Randy is EVERYWHERE. Any meeting that I go to in Aurora, whether it is at a church, a school, at the mayor's office, or at a local restaurant, chances are good that Randy will be there, too. And he truly views Warehouse Church as God's Church, and freely offers space to start-up churches, ministries, community gatherings, the homeless, and anyone else needing a building.

I have a lot of people that I look to for coaching and inspiration, but I have probably learned more from Randy than from anyone else just by watching him work tirelessly and relentlessly to bring churches and groups and people together. Lots of people talk about working together for the sake of the Kingdom, but Randy doesn't just talk about it . . . he lives it.

Lake Forest Pastor Reflects on the State of the Church

The Way Forward...

Mike Woodruff The following article (used with permission) is an excerpt from the Christ Church of Lake Forest Newsletter. In it, Pastor Mike Woodruff articulates the faith and bold leadership that we need to be reminded of. "Thanks" Mike for sharing what we all are experiencing and hoping for!

"...there are many reasons to be encouraged. And to the extent that I think specifically about Christ Church I could add to the list. However, when I look more broadly at our situation - and by "our" I mean the church in the northern suburbs of Chicago and beyond - I grow unsettled. There are several reasons why. Let me mention two..." [Read More]

Chuck Colson to Speak to Chicagoland Leaders

Colson Invite

For over three decades, Chuck Colson has been a "catalytic agent" speaking into the most pressing issues facing the Church today. He is excited to interact with leaders and key influencers about what God is doing throughout Chicagoland.

Chuck Colson was one of the most powerful politicos during his four years of service to President Nixon. After leaving prison for Watergate-related charges, Colson founded Prison Fellowship in 1976, a Christian, non-profit organization that has become the world's largest outreach to prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families. Colson also is a popular speaker and author and is considered one of the great evangelical minds of our day. He has written 25 books, which collectively have sold more than 5 million copies.

YOU are invited to a 'Bonfire' Gathering where Catalyst churches, pastors, and community leaders will have the remarkable opportunity to hear Chuck Colson, live and in person.

As always, the 'Bonfire' is designed to equip and encourage pastors and key leaders all across northern Chicagoland. There is no cost to attend the 'Bonfire' - it is an investment from Catalyst Partner churches that are committed to working together for greater Kingdom impact. Be warned, however, there may be "cost" if you miss this gathering!

Following the main session, there will be Breakout Groups specifically designed to initiate dialog between like-minded leaders. You will have a chance to debrief the session, as well as to prayerfully consider next steps in this collaborative movement. I look forward to seeing you on February 6th!

Changing the World Together,

Bill Yaccino, Executive Director, Catalyst
